Rob Edwards along with Gary O'Neil are two of the early candidates under consideration to replace the former manager as manager of Wolves.
Pereira was dismissed on the weekend following the team's ten-game without a victory beginning to the Premier League campaign.
And Edwards and O'Neil - both of who have historic associations to the team - are part of the options to be considered by the club ownership.
Edwards is currently at Middlesbrough, which would pose a potential hurdle to his appointment at Molineux.
Nevertheless the former Luton Town manager - who played more than 100 of appearances for the club during his time as a player - is considered a leading candidate for the vacancy.
The 42-year-old is reportedly enjoys backing from the club board as they start the process of hiring a fresh manager.
Gary O'Neil is also appearing as a unexpected candidate, even though he would be a shock appointment considering he was sacked by the club in December last year.
The former West Ham player is currently unemployed meaning Wolves would not be required to provide any compensation.
